Beaver Meadows, Carbon County-

Parishoners at St. Mary's in Beaver Meadows say this is an insult upon injury. Their church was closed by the diocese and now a holy item was taken. It happened sometime in early September. Its called "a montrance". it is placed on the altar. This is a photograph of the item. It is valued at around $1,300 dollars, but it means much more to the parish family.

St. Mary's was closed in July as part of a diocese restructuring this summer. So word of this theft makes the pain of the church loss even deeper.

Area religious stores have been notified to keep an eye out for the item, as well as pawn shops. If you have any information call Beaver Meadows police or 9-1-1 .
