Clifford Township/Lightning Stike

Clifford Township/Lightning Stike - Friday, August 8, 2008 at 8:50PM EST

Friday, Aug 8, 2008 @ 08:50pm EST
Clifford Township, Susquehanna County -

Lightning hit the Nolan home on State Route 20-23 in Clifford Township Friday morning. Three people were inside the home at the time - all are ok. Neighbors say the storm was fast and furious.
Firefighters from three counties responded to the call. They say the bolt of lightning hit between the home and two propane gas tanks. Flames crept up the corner of the house and were contained within its walls. Some say it could've been much worse.
Another problem was that the crews initially got the call at the wrong address. This as the county works to number every street in the system.
You can protect yourself and your home from lightning by getting inside, staying off the phone, unplugging appliances and using a surge protector.
