PALMYRA TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY- Winter clothing, including jackets, coats, blankets and similar items will be given out to anyone in need tonight (Wednesday, November 5th) at the Wallenpaupack Area North Primary School in Pike County.
The items were collected by Pennsylvania State Troopers from Troop 'R' as part of a public service program. Lt. James Degnan of the Blooming Grove Barracks said the troopers and civilian employees wanted to do something to help people in the area. The drive collected several tons of clothing including many new and hand made items.
The first distribution will run from 5 til 8pm tonight at the Wallenpaupack Area North Primary School near Hawley. A second distribution will be held on Wednesday, November 12th from 5 til 8pm at the Wallenpaupack Area South Elementary School on Route 507 in Newfoundland.
Those involved with the collection and distribution hope to make it an annual event.
