HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- A Luzerne County couple who lost their home to fire is getting help from their community.

Eyewitness News showed you the damage this weekend to the home on Samson Road. Harveys Lake Council member Carole Samson and her husband Dan escaped the New Year's Eve fire with just the clothes on their back.

Sunday the council president and others met to talk about helping the couple. One way is a spaghetti fund-raising dinner that's planned for January 15th at the Harveys Lake American Legion.

"I'd like to hope that the whole Harveys Lake will come out and show us where their heart is," said Council President Larry Lucarino.

Plans are also in the works to set up a bank trust fund on Monday for the Samsons. Some donations were already turned over to the couple to buy some clothes.
