(JACKSON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY) - A well known Luzerne County businessman is dead.

His 72-year old Step-Father is behind bars charged with his murder. 36-year old Kevin Sult was shot to death early Thursday night. It happened outside his home in Jackson Township as the family was doing some last minute wedding planning.

Eyewitness News Reporter Jill Konopka spoke with people who are shocked and heartbroken. State and local police gather evidence at the affluent Sult-Carson home in Jackson Township. It was near this wedding tent on Fairfield Drive Authorities say George “Bill" Carson shot and killed his Step-Son Kevin Sult. Joe Urban knows the family, "It just goes to show, you never know what can happen."

Police say Carson snapped after Sult threw scissors and a beer in his face. The family was getting ready for Sult's Brother's Weekend wedding. Thomas Sult and his bride were going to get married here at the home. Instead, some family members witnessed the deadly confrontation.

Don Hartshorne also knew the family, "It's a day of heartache and tear drops. It's awful. Awful. Very nice family, Tom's a dear gentleman. Everyone in the Wyoming Valley needs to be praying for the Sult family." The mood is somber inside the Sult-Carson Family's Mark II Restaurant in Dallas. Servers stunned, customers confused by the headlines in the paper. Tom Sult is the Manager at Mark II. His brother used to work here as well. Joe Urban again spoke with Eyewitness News, "It's a tragedy for both sides.

We've known Kevin for 20 some years since he was in school; we've known Tom for about as long." Charlie Dugan; Owner of Dugan's Pub in Luzerne expressed his emotions in a few words; for everyone to see. Dugan added, "It's absolutely horrible, best friends were here last night and my nephew when we found out. It's hard to get through and a few tough ones ahead of us the same way."

Dugan and Kevin Sult were fast friends. They leaned on each other in tough times. Now Dugan clutches on to this empty bottle of beer with bitter sweet memories. Charlie Dugan added, "It's a sad day. Sad. Kevin Sult is one of a kind, even if he made lousy beer, he was a great guy."

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning. as for his brothers' wedding, sources close to the bride's family say it's still on for tomorrow.
