A 16-mile stretch of the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will closed at times this weekend.
The first closure began at noon Saturday between exits 115 and 131 -- the Wyoming Valley and Clarks Summit interchanges. PennDOT will keep this section closed until noon Sunday to allow crews to install a concrete median barrier, as well as for milling, paving and bridge repairs. This same section will close a second time from Sunday night at 10:00 until Monday morning at 7:00 A. M.
And another travel heads-up -- the Clarks Summit interchange ramp connecting Route 6 and 11 southbound to the turnpike and Interstate 81 is also closed. The ramp is scheduled to reopen Sunday night at 6:00.
