Williamsport, Lycoming County-
Williamsport police arrested a man they call a dangerous internet sex predator Wednesday afternoon.
53-year-old Bruce Daugherty, of Cogan Station, was led into police headquarters at city hall just after 2pm.
Officers say Daugherty was actually online talking to a female detective posing as a 13-year-old girl when he was taken into custody.
He was caught after a tip call led police to his location at Masden's Laundromat on Grier Street.
Williamsport Police Agent Ronald Bachman said, "Obviously the Internet is not a dead end superhighway. And he left a trail from his Internet activity. And the Internet activity is what we used to unravel this case to eventually make an arrest here today."
Police say Daugherty served as a bus driver in the Williamsport Area School District up until about 18 months ago. | | |
