Coroner: Firefighter's Death 'Homicide' - Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:20PM EST
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Late Thursday night, Luzerne County Coroner John Corcoran said the death of Plains Township Firefighter Robert Kubicki has been ruled a homicide. The Wilkes-Barre Police Department refused to comment on specifics about the Wednesday night two-car crash at the intersection of Butler Street and Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Police said Kubicki's pick-up truck was heading east on Butler Street. Detectives identified the other vehicle's driver as Tommy James Patton of Noxen. They said Patton had a passenger with him, police identified as Roy Albert Hart of Dallas. Patton's vehicle was traveling south, according to a department news release. A police lieutenant refused to release a copy of the accident report saying it was against department policy.
Luzerne County District Attorney Jacqueline Musto Carroll said the investigation still continues. She declined further comment.
WBRE Eyewitness News was unable to reach Patton for comment. He has not been charged with any crime. | |
