GILLET, BRADFORD COUNTY- Fire crews were on the scene of a barn fire in Bradford County for hours this morning that shut down the Berwick Turnpike and killed a large number of dairy cows.

It started around 2:30 this morning in a barn at the Sturdevant Dairy Farm in Gillet, right along the Berwick Turnpike.

The Sturdevant family lives in the home right next to the barn. No one was hurt but many of the cows in the barn died.

The turnpike is still closed with detours in place - it's expected to be open around 3:00 P.M.
