PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- The morning commute was a rough one for lots of drivers along I-81 in Plains Township after crashes in both directions.

It all started when a northbound car veered off the highway, crossed the grassy median and collided with an SUV in the southbound lanes. Two people were in the SUV, including one who suffered moderate injuries and had to be cut from the wreckage.

While the clean-up was going on, another crash happened on I-81 north near mile marker 173 causing more traffic headaches this morning.
