MONROE TOWNSHIP, WYOMING COUNTY - A driver is charged with DUI for a crash that knocked out power to hundreds of people in Wyoming County.

State police identified the driver as Joseph Sauder, who crashed a pickup truck into a utility pole Tuesday night around 10:30.

The impact severed the pole and burned utility lines at an area known as Lutes Corners between Routes 29 and 309 in Monroe Township.

That caused a blackout for approximately 300 customers in the Noxen and Evans Falls area.

UGI restored power Wednesday morning just before 7:30.
