WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- A man faces DUI charges after an overnight crash in Wilkes-Barre.

The driver crashed his SUV into a pole and sheared the pole in half just before 1:00 A.M. in the 300 block of South River Street. Wilkes-Barre police say he had been drinking.

South River Street is closed between Ross and Academy Streets while crews repair the pole and downed lines in Wilkes-Barre.
