COVINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - A 19-year-old man is dead after a car accident early Sunday morning in Lackawanna County.

State Police say the deadly wreck happened just after 3:30 on Route 435 in Covington Township. Investigators say Jacob Batzel died, when the car he was driving went off the road, hit a stone wall and flipped over.

Troopers say Batzel was from Moscow. A second passenger, Zachary Batzel, suffered moderate injuries in the accident. He is being treated at Scranton CMC.

The investigation into the deadly accident continues in Lackawanna County.
