A man involved in a deadly dui crash is going to prison.

Walter Anderson of Lake Ariel wrecked his car last July.

The passenger, who was Anderson 's best friend, Harold Tucker, died in the crash.

On Thursday, Anderson was sentenced to four years in state prison.

Anderson 's attorney, Paul Walker said, "It's very emotional for him he's been having a very difficult time since this incident occurred. He suffered physically and he can be cured from the physical problems but the emotional problems he's been having a very difficult time with."

The deadly crash happened while Anderson was on parole.

While waiting for his sentencing date, police arrested Anderson on a public drunkenness charge.

It all factored in to the four year sentence.

Wayne County district attorney Michael Lehutsky said, "This one really stands as a lesson to people. Mr. Anderson killed his best friend. It was an extremely violent accident. It happened while he was on parole and should have been watching his conduct."

Police say Anderson was twice the legal limit the night of crash.

Tucker's family told us he died in the crash the night of his mothers birthday.
