Deadly Day on Area Roads

Deadly Day on Area Roads - Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00PM EST

Police are investigating fatal crashes in 3 counties throughout our area.
One of those happened Saturday night around 6:30 between Tresckow and Mcadoo near Mcadoo Industrial Park. A man was killed when a jeep crashed and flipped several times on Tresckow Road. Another person in the jeep had to be flown to an area trauma center.

Another fatality happened around noon Saturday in Bradford County. A man and woman on a motorcycle crashed in Stevens Township on a curve of Route 706.

41-year-old Susan Barrett of Canton was thrown from the cycle and killed. The driver, 32-year-old Lawrence Barrett of Canton, suffered only minor injuries.

And one man is dead and another is injured after a two-vehicle crash in Luzerne County's Back Mountain. It happened Saturday morning around 7:30 in Lehman Township.

A pickup truck slammed into the driver's side of a car entering Route 118 from Idetown Road. The car driver, 57-year-old Robert Sheridan of Dallas, was killed. The other driver, Mark Benscoter of Dallas, was treated at the hospital and released.

Police don't expect to file any charges.
