Deadly Wilkes-Barre Fire Ruled Arson

Deadly Wilkes-Barre Fire Ruled Arson - Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 6:00PM EST

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- The Luzerne County District Attorney says police are looking for the person who set a Chester Street house on fire, killing Caroline Kostelnick and her mother, Nancy Kostelnick.
"I hope they catch them, because she didn't deserve that," said neighbor Dolores Evans. She watched as the house burned on April 13th.

District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll says it took this long to determine the fire's cause. "It's better to take our time than come out with a statement without having all of the facts," she told Eyewitness News.

But the D. A.’s office won't say if there's any person of interest. "I'm not at liberty to say anything because it could impede the investigation," she added.

Jackie Musto Carroll calls this investigation intense. Police say several people have been interviewed.

Now this neighborhood will wait until any arrests are made. If you have information call Wilkes-Barre Police.
