STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY- There is new information on the woman whose body was dismembered and dumped along the highway in Monroe County.

The coroner ruled the death a homicide but investigators are still trying to identify the victim. We talked with the Deputy Coroner about the investigation.

Monroe County's Deputy Coroner has seen a lot over the past decade. But nothing like she saw Tuesday, trash bags full of body parts scattered along Interstates 80 and 380 in the Poconos.

Monroe County Deputy Coroner Cindy Skrzypek stated "I've been here since 1996 and I can honestly say I've never seen anything like this."

When she got the call to examine the remains just after nine Tuesday morning she didn't believe it could be human body parts. But she quickly learned she was wrong and she joined investigators in a day long search for more parts.

"It was grueling. I think everybody was exhausted by the end of the day" explained Deputy Coroner Skrzypek.

By the end of the day investigators found eight bags full of body parts. They wouldn't say exactly what they found but one bag contained the head of a light skinned woman.

Cindy and the others treated each part with care. "We try to take as much respect, even though they're just parts, they still are a body and they still belonged to a human person."

Other people who live and work in the Poconos can't believe someone could cut apart another human.

Matt Morriele of Scranton said "It's pretty wild. It's crazy. Its nuts."

Some people we talked to are worried for their families.

Manuel Chapilliquin of Bear Creek declared "there's a maniac running around here. We have to try to get him before he hurts somebody else."

The Coroners Office said investigators are working as hard as they can. They will continue the search for more body parts and other clues first thing Thursday morning.

Investigators are still trying to figure out the victim's identity. She is described as a white female about 5-feet 7 inches tall and heavy set. She has dark hair with some grey mixed. If you have any information call Pennsylvania State Police at the Swiftwater barracks at 570-839-7701
