SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Dickson City Mayor Anthony Zaleski was in court Thursday morning to face charges of driving under the influence. Eyewitness News was the only station there as Zaleski left the courthouse in Scranton.

Police say Zaleski was pulled over in Olyphant Thanksgiving night. He refused to have a blood test taken. Zaleski said he's embarrassed by what happened. Defense Attorney Jerry Karam said, "Mr. Zaleski has accepted responsibility for this event. He's waived his preliminary hearing and he's applying for A. R.D."

Zaleski was just sworn into his second term as Dickson City mayor. Despite the charges, he says he will not resign as mayor. Zaleski also serves on the Lackawanna County Multi-Purpose Stadium Authority.
