WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- A section of downtown Wilkes-Barre will be closed to traffic over the Memorial Day weekend because of a demolition project.

Main Street between Public Square and Northampton Street was shut down Sunday for a time and will be blocked-off Monday as well. Drivers will have to find a different route Monday between 7 A. M. and 3 P. M. as crews take-down the Blum Brothers building on South Main Street.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of June.
