The closing of Molly Brannigans at Adams & Lackawanna Avenues caught customers and workers by surprise, Monday.
The restaurant chain's CEO, Colm McWilliams, told Eyewitness News the Irish-themed pub closed for good after business Saturday night.
He blamed the closing on a "lack of business" and said that people apparently "can't afford to buy a beer"
The restaurant was experiencing problems paying rent to the Scranton Parking Authority in recent months.
The city hopes to fill the first floor vacancy of the Casey Garage with one of a few interested restaurants and bars. | |
