MONROE COUNTY - People in Monroe County are planning for a big career fair. It's April 14th at the Fernwood Resort. One organization is making sure people are dressed to impress for the occasion.
Opening a closet door could open doors for you in the job market. "It's good clothing in good condition," said Deborah Harrison of Monroe County CareerLink.

The special closet is a clothing closet at the Monroe County CareerLink office in Tannersville. All of the clothes are donated. CareerLink gives them to people who don't have anything appropriate to wear to a job interview.

"Now in this climate especially, when there is so much competition for the jobs, you really do have to step it up a notch," said Harrison.

Lisa Pollack told Eyewitness News she might use the closet because it's hard enough to find a job opening, let alone impress someone at an interview. She explained, "It's very hard. It's extremely hard. It's like there's nothing out there."

In this rough economy the racks aren't quite as full as they could be so an area business decided to help, Ramsour Family Chiropractic. Doctor Brettney Ramsour owns it. He said, "Things are getting costly for people so we felt it was a need."

Ramsour is collecting suits for CareerLink clients. Harrison thanked him and said, "This clothing donation will come at a great time 'cause we're seeing increased numbers of people come in."

Ramsour said, "It's gonna give them an emotional build up because now they're like yes I can go out and get that job, I look the part, I feel the part."

Doctor Ramsour goes from helping his patients' health to helping the community health.

You can drop off donations at Ramsour Chiropractic in East Stroudsburg or the CareerLink office in Tannersville.
