TRUCKSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Traffic could be tied up all day in Luzerne County because of a drunk driver.

Utility crews are busy making repairs in Luzerne County's back mountain. Repairs are underway and a detour has been in effect some 9-hours after the messy crash.

Police suspect 32-year old Sean Pietraccini of Dallas was drinking and driving when he crashed into several trees and 2 utility poles along South Pioneer Avenue early Thursday morning. His Chevy pickup landed in the landscaping on Karen Adams' property, just barely missing her car.

"I thought it was thunder and lightning. The dog started barking. I heard people talking and saw flashing lights on the truck. I thought ‘Not again’ because there are always accidents along the road. You sort of get used to it and you handle it" stated Adams.

An ambulance took Pietraccini to the hospital with minor bumps and bruises after he was found at a nearby home on Johnson Street. Hours later the utility company arrived on the scene to replace both poles and restore power to several homes.

Trucksville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bill Eck explained what damage was caused. "Two poles were sheared off and the transformer is down. Three houses are out of power. The individual removed himself from the vehicle."

Crews expect South Pioneer Avenue from Davis Street to Sutton Road to be closed for most of the day. As for Karen Adams she will not be making it into work on Thursday. "With no electricity, I can't get the car out because of the trees on the driveway and the poles being down" she declared.
