DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Dunmore borough council met Monday night to discuss a doomsday decision concerning their budget.

Members discussed their options for the one-point-seven million dollar budget deficit.

Right now they have petitioned the courts for a loan.

Even with that money they would still be 300-thousand dollars in the hole.

The council is in a vicious cycle of paying last year's bills with this year's money.

There are also several payrolls left in the year.

The council is considering layoffs to help make ends meet.

Council leaders blame decisions from past councils and costly labor lawsuits for the money woes.
