DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The Borough of Dunmore laid off its Borough Manager.

Council officials say the layoff was because of budget problems in the community.

Joseph Patchcoski was hired by the borough last September. He was notified of his layoff yesterday.

Eyewitness News talked with Council Vice President Paul Nardozzi about the action. He said it was unfortunate but necessary due to the financial problem in the borough.

The Dunmore council will be discussing the layoff and other issues at Monday night's meeting.
