DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- An effort is underway to keep the life and memory of Lieutenant Carol Ann Drazba of Dunmore alive.
Drazba was a nurse and the first woman to die during the Vietnam War.
She died in a helicopter crash on February 18th, 1966.
Now, Drazba's hometown of Dunmore wants to honor her place in history.
Her friends are raising money to put up a bronze statue.
The Friends of the Forgotten would like to
raise 50 thousand dollars for the statue.
They held tonight's event at the Hometown Heroes Bar
In Dunmore.
