DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Dunmore looks much different today than it did on August 27, 2006, after someone set it on fire to cover up a burglary. Nearly three years later, the official grand opening was held Friday.

"We were finally ready to show it off today," said Ron Cordaro, co-owner, who says they planned to rebuild within minutes of losing their business. "You can sit and out and feel sorry for yourself. We did that for about two hours, then said, 'Let's go.'"

The business operated temporarily out of their old showroom, which was in an adjacent building. They started building the new structure just a few months after the fire. The new facility is nearly 12,000 square feet in size, and the store is 5,400 square feet, nearly triple the size of the old store.

"It's exciting. It's much bigger than it used to be, and there are more products now," said Dave Boniello of Dunmore, a customer of nearly 20 years. "So, a bad thing turned into a good thing for everybody. I'm excited they're back in business."

Nobody's been arrested in the arson, and anyone with information is asked to call police. But Cordaro says he's been able to move on and laugh about it.

"I'd rather not know for obvious reasons," joked Cordaro. "I might go on a manhunt myself."

But he's just glad things are bigger and better than they were three years ago.
