EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY-

Some said they were happy to celebrate the opening of East Stroudsburg University 's new Science and Technology Center .

For others the word happy is hardly enough.

Physics and Astronomy Professor David Buckley spent 18 years teaching in classrooms and lecture halls.

Now he has a planetarium.

“This is kind of an extra window on the universe. You get to go places that are physically impossible to go to."

The professor always loved space. "I was that kid outside on the lawn with a telescope when the space program was really big."

Now he's a big kid -- excited to share a whole new world of learning with his students.

"I think that students get a better visualization, especially the three dimensional things."

He can also share the wonders of space - from the tech center's observatory.

Sophomore Pascual Ortiz "New technology is always welcome here at ESU."

Including computers that sink into desk.

And special labs where students can work on cyber security classes without crashing the main campus system.

Sophomore Andrea Adebowle "It's very nice. They didn't have things like this on campus before."

Among all the high tech gizmos and gadgets - you'll find something more traditional.

"The building is also designed to encourage student interaction. On every floor you'll find one of these giant chalkboard walls where students can get together and study."

Combining cutting edge and traditional learning -- makes the center educational and entertaining.
