East Stroudsburg, Monroe County -

The students were protesting an alleged cover up of a university sex for scholarships scandal. Six students are suing the university over a controversy involving the former head of the ESU foundation, Isaac Sanders. They claim they had to give sexual favors in exchange for scholarships.

The governor told the students he'll help them get a hearing with the State Board of Higher Education. Gov. Ed Rendell says, "To have the board run an independent investigation whether the actions of everyone here were appropriate or had the best interest of the students at heart."

The governor was on campus to tout his new tax plan to help pay for college tuition.
