On a nice day Irene and Donald like to be outside enjoying their yard. But they don't like looking beyond their fence. When the pair look at the house their eyes quickly travel down to the ground where the neglected pool has become a feeding area for rats and bugs. There is also overgrown brush that surrounds the pool and garbage is also in plain sight. In the front cigarette butts and rubbish fill the porch. He has brought it to the attention of borough leaders.
Letters placed on the porch say the Ellsworth family owns the home. The name of Mark Ellsworth is most recently listed.
At borough hall, Rowland Roberts says a major hold-up in the process is finding the whereabouts of the owner and putting the home through the sherrif's sale in Luzerne County.
We're told it's the worst of a handful of abandoned homes in need of being torn down in the borough.
