EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY-A special ceremony in Edwardsville Thursday night for two police officers who have been on the job for many years.

Police officers, Hal Bond and Shawn Brown, were both promoted to sergeant during the city council meeting. They were administered the oath of office by Mayor Bernie Dubaskas
Both men work with the late Edwardsville Chief of Police Mike Slusark , who passed away in May.
Bond and Brown will now work with Chief David Souchick.
The men both stated that as sergeants they hope to be able to combat the drug problem in Edwardsville, while helping to make the police force stronger and provide better service to the surrounding communities.
