Egg hunt with a safety message

Egg hunt with a safety message - Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 04:06AM EST

Saturday March 27 2010
It wasn't your average Easter egg hunt in Bear Creek Township . While kids went wild searching for eggs, some were hard at work, spreading a message of safety. The Northeastern Highway Safety Program is giving the safety reminder after a dangerous winter on Route 115. Rebecca Rybak of the Northeastern Highway Safety Program said, "The accidents that happened the winter is really going to be on our minds forever. I think there have been a lot of improvement with the lowering of the speed limit and a lot of enforcement on the road." After two deadly accidents less than a month apart early this year, changes were made on Route 115. Speed limits were lowered; troopers were out in full force and parents noticed. Steve moon of Bear Creek Township said, "That's our main point. Everybody do the speed limit, buckle up, be safe and everybody can be happy." Several safety forums like the one that was held today have been held along Route 115. One was held at bear creek charter school last month by state police. One of the deadly accidents happened outside that school in January.
