POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY - Police say an elderly woman who was kidnapped by her son from a nursing home earlier this week has died.

Investigators say Ruth Ann Netchel was abducted from the Schuylkill Center Nursing Home Wednesday, but was later found at her son's house in Mount Carmel. The county coroner says Netchel died Thursday because of cardiogenic shock.

Netchel's son Robert was arrested and originally charged with kidnapping in Schuylkill County.
