Election Day in Pennsylvania

Election Day in Pennsylvania - Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 08:22AM EST

NEWTON TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY- It's Election Day in Pennsylvania and Lackawanna County voters are doing something they haven't had to do in some 70 years.

Lackawanna County voters like the ones we found this morning in Newton Township are casting their votes on paper ballots.

They have to vote that way because of a software issue with the county's electronic voting machines and because the old lever systems were sold for scrap.

The key contest in Lackawanna County is the Commissioners’ race.

The polls opened at 7:00 A.M. throughout Pennsylvania and will remain open until 8:00 tonight.Tune in to WBRE throughout the night for the latest results and reaction or be sure to stop back here to PAHomePage.com for up-to-the-minute election results.
