PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY -- A man was stabbed to death at Diablo's after-hours club last weekend, and today, Eyewitness News learned the manager of that club got an eviction notice.

The realtor for Plains Plaza tells us she gave the club manager, Jimmy Sperazza, a 30-day eviction notice on Tuesday. But when we called him Friday afternoon, he told us he wasn't served any papers.

Businesses in the plaza say the club's bad reputation has plagued their sales.

"I still get customers that come in and are worried, even though it happens late at night," said Jim Jasterzenski, the owner of a dry cleaning business.

He and other business owners told us this week, they were always worried someone would get killed at the club. Last Sunday, around 3am, a 20-year-old Brooklyn man was stabbed in the neck. He later died.

"It shouldn't be here to begin with," said a man who lives just a few blocks from the plaza. "We don't need it in this area."

But Sperazza told us he wasn't given an eviction notice. When asked if he had anything to say, Sperazza said, "Why are they focusing on me and my club? They should be finding out who stabbed the guy."

He told us bouncers use metal-detecting wands when people come to the club, and he doesn't tolerate violence.

People who live in the area fear the eviction won't happen.

"There are loopholes in everything," added the neighbor.
