WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- The Ethics Institute of Northeastern Pennsylvania, along with Leadership Wilkes-Barre, unveiled the Ethics Awareness Initiative Tuesday. It's asking elected officials, business owners and members of the community to take an ethics pledge.
The pledge encourages them to commit to a set of principles and ethical behavior. West Pittston Mayor Bill Goldsworthy signed the list and said, "Just look at Luzerne County and see the state of confusion right now. We need ethical people right now in our community, we've got to straighten our our community."
Lori Nocito, Executive Director of Leadership Wilkes-Barre, said, "Well it's just a start. We'd thought we'd start the dialogue and hopefully it will have a ripple effect, a positive ripple effect throughout the community."
