EXETER, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Walmart is out, for now. Motions to vote on ordinances concerning the Walmart failed before Exeter borough council Tuesday night.
This comes after months of meetings and hearings about the proposed Walmart. It was a standing room only crowd at the council meeting.
The discount giant wants to build a super center on Wyoming Avenue. Many people are against re-zoning the area for commercial reasons.
They cite traffic concerns and the effect the big retailer would have on other businesses.
The attorney for Walmart says the company has other options in the area including another try for Exeter. | | |
