NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Federal agents seized more records from Luzerne County Community College. ItŐs the latest development in the ongoing federal corruption probe in Luzerne County.
Sources close to the case say the F. B.I. uncovered information in recent days that compelled them to return to the Luzerne County Community College. This is the second time the feds have been at the school.
Sources confirm that agents made an unannounced visit to the school Thursday and left with college records.
As Eyewitness News reported several months ago, the F. B.I. paid a visit and seized records that dealt with business contracts, things that involved the installation of carpeting and landscaping work. This week sources say they returned and took more business records. The F. B.I received information recently about alleged illegal activities connected to those contracts.
Earlier this year former L. C.C. C Board President and Superintendent of Pittston Area Schools Dr. Ross Scarantino plead guilty to taking bribes to steer contracts in the Pittston Area School District.
The I-Team has confirmed the records taken by the F. B.I. involved contracts that were awarded during Scarantino's tenure as board president. | | |
