A food additive contaminated with salmonella could be in thousands of food products.
The additive is called hydrolyzed vegetable protein -- h-v-p for short.
It's used as a flavor enhancer in many processed foods.
More than 30 products have been recalled so far.
No illnesses associated with the tainted h-v-p have been reported. | |
