Hanover Township, Luzerne County -
Mike and Jordan Fullam leave the drivers' license center in Hanover Township . This is Jordan 's first ever driver's license. But this license is different than those given out in the past. Everyone who comes here gets a temporary card. It all has to do with a new hi-tech computer program.
Trooper Marty Conners explains, "Basically what it is is a digital fingerprint of people's facial features. PennDot issues a temporary driver's license for 15 days. Its run though to check and see if anybody has one like it with the same facial features. It could mean a stolen identity.” If another match does comes up then State Police would be called and an investigation is launched.
For Jordan and his dad, the new process makes sense.
It really is a James Bond type of system. Once your I. D. is cleared you will get your permanent drivers' license that should take about 15 days.
