COLUMBIA COUNTY - The fair is still days away - and it's still dark outside.

While others are asleep dreaming of hot cakes - Susan Fausey was up making breakfast.

She works at Grandma Edwards' stand, it’s been around since the 1940's.

Today's customers will be workers who are setting up the fairgrounds.

Fausey said, “there's quite a few workers here. And sometimes at meal time every thing is full out front - and we have people waiting - and we're back here.”

Mike Alberry stopped in to Grandma Edwards for a cup of Joe this morning.

“I was just around trying to get a cup of coffee because no one is alive around here yet."

Alberry is in town from Virginia to see his brother who has a stand at the fair.

But if he wants to spend time with him - its now or never.

“If I get to spend some time with him before they open. Because once they open he aint got any time -busy busy busy."

Kevin Bissinger is also a busy man. He spent Thursday morning setting up his stand, Bissinger's Apple Dumplings.

Bissinger takes his stand to several different fairs.

But this fair is the one that really counts.

"The Bloomsburg fair is just the biggest one and you get the best crowds".
