Family & Friends Mourn Loss of Husband, Father - Monday, June 8, 2009 at 6:25PM EST
PITTSTON TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- Dozens of state trooper patrol cars escorted Pennsylvania State Trooper Joshua Miller’s body from Lehigh Valley Hospital to Graziano Funeral home in Pittston Township Monday afternoon.
Family, friends and co-workers lined the parking lot, paying their respects. Miller was shot and killed in the line of duty Sunday night in Coolbaugh Township.
Miller grew up in Pittston and graduated from Pittston Area High School in 1992. He joined the Pennsylvania State Police in 2002. Miller leaves behind a wife and three children at their Pittston Township home.
Miller is a U. S. Marine veteran. Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Bradley Shatinsky spoke for the family. He tells Eyewitness news, “They realized Josh died doing what he wanted to do with his life. He loved his career. He always wanted to be a trooper.”
Plans for Miller’s funereal aren’t finalized. Trooper Shatinsky says the family would like Miller’s brother to return from military service in Iraq first. | |
