EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - A judge has made rulings on a brutal murder case in the Poconos. The rulings involve the violent stabbing of 21 year old Michael Goucher of East Stroudsburg. The judge ruled the case will be tried in Monroe County and evidence that could be considered a confession will be allowed into the trial.

Goucher was a Private First Class in the Army who was found dead in Price Township last February. Two teenagers were charged with the crime. They are Shawn Freemore and Ian Seagraves. At the time of the murder Freemore was 19 and Seagraves was 17.

Goucher was laid to rest one year ago today. In an exclusive interview with Eyewitness News his family said Michael won't rest in peace until justice is served.

The last time Mary Searfoss saw her nephew Michal they played a board game called Ticket to Ride. Mary recalled, "We played the game and I actually won so he went to work mad - and that was the last time I saw him. Since then nobody wants to play ticket to ride anymore."

Mary and her husband Will raised Micahel. Will cried,"He was such a part of this family."

There were crushed when the police told them Michael was murdered by people who he apparently met online. Mary said, "You just can't trust people you don't know."

Michael was a member of the East Stroudsburg Crime Watch. He also sang and played instruments at school and in church. His family recently discovered a video of him playing church organ on a memory card. Will said, "It was almost as if Mike's presence was deliberately being known here." He felt the same way during Christmas, Mike's favorite holiday. Before Mike died he promised to buy his uncle a nativity scene. A friend, who didn't know about the promise gave him one. Will cried, "I got emotional because it was like wow Mike's not here but he promised a manger scene and someone just gave us one."

The family feels Mike with them every day. They don't believe he is resting in peace. Will said, "Closure really comes when justice is served."

Will and Mary hope their loss teaches people not to trust anyone who they meet on the internet. She said, "I hope that this tragedy might open some kids eyes and it could save a life actually."

To honor Michael's memory the family has set up two scholarships. One is for students going into music. Another is for kids interested in Law Enforcement.

They're also planning a memorial bicycle run.
