MOUNTAINHOME, MONROE COUNTY - It appears an accused killer in the Poconos has changed his story. Shawn Freemore originally told police he killed Michael Goucher because Goucher made a sexual advance at him. Now police say he's telling them he killed Goucher for virtually no reason and he had help.

Police say Freemore admitted he killed Michael Goucher because he "didn't really know him." Michael's uncle said he missed out on getting to know a special person. "He was a great kid from baby day one," said Herbert Planchock.

Michael loved being part of the neighborhood crime watch. He played organ at church. He served in the army. And he loved to sing. "Even singing in the national cathedral in Washington DC," said his aunt Ethel Schuler.

Last week, police found Michael stabbed to death in the woods of Price Township. He was 21 years old. "It's been hard. I"ts been really hard," cried Schuler.

Freemore originally told police he murdered Goucher because Goucher tired to get sexual with him. New court filings show that story probably wasn't true. The documents say the murder was pre planned.

Fremoore now says he and a friend got high, lured Michael into the woods and stabbed him at least 45 times.

Now Michael's family wants justice. Planchock said, "I personally want to make it very clear, I think they should serve the death penalty without question."

Schuler suggested the death penalty would be too easy. "He'd just be up for appeal, and appeal and appeal." She'd prefer Michael's killers spend life behind bars without parole.

The friend who Freemore said participated in the murder is Ian Seagraves. He's a 17 year old from Cresco. Police arrested him Wednesday.
