HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY- The family of a Hazleton woman, who died from a severe beating in her home, is speaking out tonight. And they have some strong words for her killer.
58-year-old Catherine Moore was found in her North Church Street home on May 14th. The coroner says she suffered a brutal beating. Eyewitness News spoke to the person who found her, her grandson.
17-year-old Clifford Moore says it is a day he will never forget. But he also had a warning for the killer. The police better find him, before the family does.
Clifford Moore found his grandmother Catherine when he came home from school. He said it was like any normal day said he did what he did everyday when he came home.
"I picked up the mail, went through the front door, threw my shoes down the basement, went to give the mail to her and found my grandmother on the ground with blood everywhere," Moore explained.
She died the next day at Lehigh Valley Hospital from blunt force trauma to her head. That kicked off an intensive police investigation. They removed all kinds of things from the home, including carpeting and baseboard heat covers.
Clifford says his grandmother was not a threat to anybody. ŇShe was nice, kind, would do anything for anyone as long as they didnŐt do anything mean. She would find anything, anything they needed, she would get it for you, give it to you," he said.
Moore says the killer should fear the family more than the police. "You better hope I don't find you. I'm the wrong kid to (expletive) off," he said.
Detectives say the investigation is moving forward and they are working several leads, but they are not saying they have a suspect. | | |
