A tense court hearing for a man who allegedly killed two Schuylkill County teenagers.

Norman Nickle of Pottsville will stand trial for the murders.

It happened in March, and the families of the teens have been waiting for this day.

Janet Turner fights back tears while sharing harsh words about Norman Nickle; the man who allegedly killed her granddaughter.

"Put him through a meat grinder, through a slow death, and torture him the way he tortured my kid. That's the only thing, anything, but he doesn't deserve to sit in jail for the rest of his life either"

Police say Nickle killed Turner and her boyfriend Joshua Yevak,

Police say it happened in Nickle's Pottsville home.

Janet Turner, "Her friends are going to the prom, they're graduating. And that would have been Kayla. It's just so hard."

Nickle allegedly kept the teen's bodies in his basement for more than two weeks.

Janet Turner joined Kayla's father and others at the tense preliminary hearing.

For them, it was a matter of hearing the story in person.

"To understand what actually happened, why it happened. There's no answer, there's no closure. There's none whatsoever. I just don't understand."

Now the family is still looking for those answers, as time moves on.

"She was a good girl. I mean, she had her moments just the same as any other child, but kayla was a good kid. She didn't deserve what happened to her."

Nickle's preliminary hearing was held at the courthouse in Pottsville for stepped up security measures.

Up next will be his formal arraignment.
