WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY -- New Year's Day means football and that means Penn State. Eyewitness News found fans rooting on the Nittany Lions at Lucky's Sports Grill in Wilkes-Barre Township.
Many of the fans were showing off their blue and white pride as PSU took on LSU in the Capital One Bowl in Florida.
ŇEvery time we make a bowl, every year, I look forward to it. It doesn't matter what bowl it is. It could be BCS, it doesn't have to be. ItŐs great. I think itŐs great to just watch and cheer for football," said Jessica Sheer.
Bob Shimkoski of Dupont said, "We were here early because my son-in-law said we better get or we won't get a seat."
It was a close game. The Nittany Lions won 19-17. This is also coach Joe Paterno's 24th win in a bowl game. | | |
