STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - When people around the world heard about Michael Jackson's death, sales of his music skyrocketed. While many downloaded songs, others rushed to their neighborhood music shops.

Michael Jackson tunes played all day at the Main Street Jukebox in Stroudsburg. The entertainer may be gone but his music and memorabilia live on. "There's not gonna be anybody else like him," said Tom Lefevre who owns the Main Street Jukebox.

Customers crowded the store Friday trying to find anything Jackson related. Lefevre said, "Anytime a big star passes away, music star, the sales will obviously jump."

Joann Townsend rushed to the store as soon as she heard about the death. She said, "I got in my car and drove here and they were closing because it was almost seven o'clock."

Employees unlocked the door and let her in to buy one CD. She went home, listened to it, and was back in the store bright and early Friday. She said, "I just wanted something else - just one more of him."

Joann and many other people spent hours going through stacks of vinyl just trying to find something to remember a favorite artist by. Diane Roldan said, "Oh he's my favorite singer - him and Janet - Oh my goodness - I love them so much."

Records in the store aren't alphabetized so anyone who wanted to find a jewel from the King of Pop's crown had to dig for it. Roldan said finding that one special item makes the search worthwhile. "You know to like treasure the special moments," she said.
