LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY- Behind the wheel of the #88 car you'd expect to see Dale Junior. But the guy eyewitness news found was a lot younger.

He was James Black from Mountain Top. He's 11. Not quite old enough for the Pocono tri-oval. But he did get a sample of speed just outside the track at a simulator. "It was pretty cool actually because it actually felt like you're in the race car," he said.

Simulators drove lots of people to check out fan fest. It's an area for shopping and playing just behind the grand stands.

People lined up to take their turns behind the wheels and in front of screens. And to feel the rush of taking the checkered flag. Shjon Dove of Lebanon said, "It's fun and I get used to driving."

He told Eyewitness News he already feels like a pro behind the wheel because he races Midget Cars. But for some, it was harder than it looked. Many spent more time crashing into the wall than speeding around the track. Thomas Sconzo from Long Island said, "If I were a NASCAR guy I'd probably be in the pit crew rather than racing."

Even if the virtual racers aren't the next Dale Junior or Jeff Gordon, they certainly gained an appreciation of what it's like to take the wheel at more than 150mph.
