SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

The Farmer's Market in Scranton opened for the season of Friday,

Farmer's from throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania sell their produce at the open air market which operates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays till Thanksgiving.

Paul Brace operates Brace's Orchard in Dallas, Pa. and has a booth at the market in Scranton. He said this year's growing season has been a good one and has produced large sized fruit and vegetables as well as a good supply.

Board member Ruthie Griggs says prices may be just slightly higher this year, reflecting the increased costs of fuel and fertizler faced by area farmers.
