Father of Two Killed in Shenandoah Shooting - Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 04:05AM EST

Reported by: Mike Trim
Tuesday March 16 2010
SHENANDOAH, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY -- 24-year-old Bruce Forker was robbed and then shot to death in his Shenandoah house early Tuesday morning.

Forker's family says he was shot in cold blood in front of his girlfriend and while his two daughters were in the house.

Long time friend Mary Ann Swartz of Mahanoy City said, "To me it was just senseless. Whatever happened in that house was totally senseless."

According to police, two men burst into Forker's house at about 2:30 Tuesday morning. They demanded money and when Forker gave it to them, the robbers shot him.

Police would only describe one of the robbers, saying he was dark skinned, possibly African American. Police say anonymous tips have led to several people being questioned.

Pennsylvania State Police Lieutenant Thomas McDaniel said, "There's no sense to a crime like this in a very nice community like this so we're looking forward to is all those calls from the public that's really bringing us closer to bringing these persons to justice."

Forker had two daughters and a very large family. He was the youngest of 15.

Forker's long time sister-in-law wants the robbers to turn themselves in. Leso said, "I'm begging you to please come forward, begging you. It's a small area. Everybody knows each other's business. Somebody had to hear something, somebody."
